2011 SPRING PASSING LEAGUE RULES
Sundays-March 20th - May 29th
(Excluding Easter Sunday)
GAME: Two hand touch 7 on 7 (6 on offense if no center)
FIELD: 45yds long x 50 yds wide
EQUIPMENT: Cleats or sneakers may be worn on the field. Each team will provide their own footballs. Helmets will be provided by each team unless arrangements have been made with Five Star FB. 14 Five Star FB T-shirts will be provided to each team and should be worn in games by active participants. Additional shirts will be sold for $6 per shirt and must be ordered in advance to the start of the league. Mouthpieces should be worn and must be provided by each team.
*Helmets are being used to protect the head and face from collisions. They are not to be used for intentional collisions in any way. If this does occur Five Star FB reserves the right to throw the violating player of out of the league for the remainder of the schedule. Helmets must not have school logos on them or they must be covered up in order to be in compliance with the CIAC.
GAME LENGTH: 60 minutes
FORMAT: 3 team rotation per field. 5 minutes per round
Round 1: A-Offense, B-Defense, C-Off
Round 2: C-Offense, A-Defense, B-Off
Round 3: B-Offense, C-Defense, A-Off
Round 4: A-Offense, B-Defense, C-Off
Round 5: C-Offense, A-Defense, B-Off
Round 6: B-Offense, C-Defense, A-Off
Round 7: A-Offense, C-Defense, B-Off
Round 8: B-Offense, A-Defense, C-Off
Round 9: C-Offense, B-Defense, A-Off
Round 10: A-Offense, C-Defense, B-Off
Round 11: B-Offense, A-Defense, C-Off
Round 12: C-Offense, B-Defense, A-Off
PLAY: Offensive team begins their possession on the 45 yds line. Four downs to achieve a first down. First downs can be achieved at the 30 yd line and 15 yd line. Once a team is at or inside the 20 that team has four downs to score.
SACK CLOCK: 4 Second Sack Clock. If the QB's throwing motion is not moving forward when sack timer expires the result is a sack and the play is dead.
SCORING:
Touchdowns from 45 yds count for 4 points
Touchdowns from 20yds-39 yards count for 3 points
Touchdowns 1-19 yds count as two points
Interceptions count as 2
Interception returned for a TD counts as 4
Holding a team from a first down/td is one point
